Sabota at Decibel 2014′s opening gala.

2014′s Decibel Festival opening gala focused on bringing three of the PNW’s finest electronic acts to the most central space of this year’s festival, the EMP’s Sky Church. The massive iconic space felt hallowed as excited people filled in. Opening the showcase was Vancouver’s Sabota - with smooth live vocals and multi-layered visuals. Natasha Kmeto of Portland and Dropping Gems filled the space with her sensual vocals while Effixx (who did much visual work throughout the festival) wove film close up film footage of dancers on the massive screen. Rounding out the opening gala was Seattle’s renown abstract electronic weaver Lusine, who returned to the festival for this event only.
